Update...mission Seven Valleys

It is Tuesday, it is my birthday and we are resting for the night in Plainfield, Indiana at yet another Motel 6. The difference with this hotel is that is is super affordable and we have an indoor pool! I am excited to relax for a good night's sleep to make the big push toward PA tomorrow.

We passed Russell, KS yesterday and the coolest roadside sign I've seen in a while: "Boyhood hometown of Bob Dole and Arlen Spector"
(Dad, I thought you'd love to hear about that one-ha ha)

So, I am anxious to be home real soon and sleep in my luxurious Sleep Comfort bed. I also look forward to sharing time with family and friends. (And meeting my new BFF Abigail Lawrence!)
Thanks for the birthday well wishes to those in contact. I appreciate it more than you can imagine.

I will post photos later this evening.

Peace~

We're heading Home!!

We left Moose, Wyoming on Friday and are headed back to PA!
Our first stop on the way was Arches National Park. We spent most of the day hiking 7.2 miles in a place called Devil's Garden. It was absolutely gorgeous and believe-it-or-not rather technical while climbing over the sandstone "fins." Our day concluded at Colorado National Monument where we camped for the night. A beautiful camp spot at Saddlehorn campground featured Utah juniper trees, Mormon tea bushes, Great Horned Owl and nighthawk calls. A short hike yesterday morning led us to similar Sandstone geology and a place called the Devil's Kitchen.
Traffic on I-70 toward Denver was a bear yesterday!
We made it to Goodland, Kansas for a nice stay at our favorite hotel chain, MOTEL 6!!! Woo hoo. I guess we'll try to get to Missouri today. Pictures are on the way...
